Privacy policy

Last updated: 5 October 2026

Profitly helps merchants and agencies understand ecommerce profitability by combining store orders, product costs and advertising spend. This policy explains how data is handled when you visit profitly.dk, use Profitly or connect an account.

Who operates Profitly

Profitly is operated by Webkonsulenterne. For privacy questions, access requests or deletion requests, email [email protected].

For your own Profitly account and our service administration, we determine how personal data is used. When a merchant or agency supplies its customers’ data, we process that data to provide the service on that business’s instructions. The merchant remains responsible for its customer privacy notices, lawful collection and any required consent. If you are a store customer, contact the store first about its use of your data; we can help route a request to the responsible business.

Information we collect

Profitly receives payment-method labels and calculated fees for reporting; its order integrations do not request full payment-card numbers or card security codes.

How we use information

We use this information to provide sign-in and team access, synchronize connected services, calculate profitability, attribute orders to channels, display product and customer reports, troubleshoot integrations, answer support requests and protect the service. We do not sell personal data.

Account and support processing is used to provide the service you request. Security and operational processing serves our legitimate interest in running a dependable service. Where consent is required, including optional account authorization or merchant advertising measurement, that authorization or consent must be obtained and can be withdrawn. Legal obligations may require us to retain or disclose specific records.

Google account and Google Ads data

Google sign-in is optional and is separate from connecting Google Ads. Connecting Google Ads requests the Google Ads permission (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/adwords) and offline access so Profitly can synchronize without requiring you to sign in every time.

We use an authorized Google Ads account to retrieve advertising spend and performance data for the profitability reports you see in Profitly. We store authorization tokens and imported reporting data. Integration credentials are encrypted in application storage.

If the merchant explicitly enables profit conversion uploads and configures a conversion action, Profitly sends Google Ads the order identifier, Google click identifier, conversion time, currency and calculated profit value. This enables conversion measurement and profit-based optimization in the merchant’s own advertising account. Order changes or refunds may require conversion corrections. This feature does not upload customer names or email addresses as part of its current conversion payload.

Profitly’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use Google data only to provide or improve the user-facing features described here. We do not sell Google user data, use it to train generalized AI or machine-learning models, or use it for unrelated advertising, credit assessment or surveillance.

Human access to Google data is limited to the circumstances permitted by that policy, such as your agreement for support, security investigations or legal obligations. Transfers are limited to permitted service delivery, security and legal purposes; a business transfer involving Google data requires the consent required by that policy.

Sharing and service providers

Your reports are available to users authorized for your Profitly team and service administrators who need access to operate or support the service. Hosting and other technical service providers may process data to deliver the service. Connected services receive the data needed for features you enable, as described above for Google Ads. Their own privacy policies govern their processing.

We may disclose information when necessary to meet a legal obligation or investigate abuse and protect the service. We do not share Google authorization tokens with other customers or use them to access accounts beyond your authorization.

Third-party platforms and service providers may process information outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Where applicable, transfers require an appropriate legal mechanism, such as an adequacy decision or contractual safeguards. Contact us for information about the providers and safeguards applicable to your account.

Cookies and browser storage

Profitly uses session and security cookies to keep you signed in and protect requests. Browser storage can remember choices such as display theme and cookie preferences. Merchant-store attribution is a separate activity controlled by the merchant’s integration and consent setup. An advertising connection does not replace the merchant’s obligation to obtain any required customer consent.

Retention, disconnection and deletion

Imported reporting data is kept while needed to provide your account’s reports and support the service. Retention also depends on contractual requirements, legal obligations, security investigations and backup rotation. We do not currently publish a fixed retention period for every data category; contact us for the retention and deletion details applicable to your account.

You can revoke Google access through your Google Account connections. Revocation prevents future authorized access once Google applies it; it does not automatically erase information already imported into Profitly or conversion records already accepted by Google.

To disconnect a service, close your Profitly account or request removal of imported data, email [email protected] with the relevant account or website. We verify the requestor’s authority before acting and explain any records that must be retained. Backup copies may remain until the applicable backup cycle completes. Google’s own records and deletion processes remain under Google’s control.

Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, object to certain processing or withdraw consent. These rights may be subject to legal exceptions. Contact us using the email above. You can also complain to your local data protection authority; in Denmark, this is Datatilsynet.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and show the updated date. Material changes to Google data access or use will be disclosed before the new use begins, with renewed consent where required.
